July 4, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Event Navigation
From the perspectives of 2 professionals working in the area of child development let’s explore what our children need to be ready for that big leap into big School!
This engaging and interactive presentation by Alison Nipperess (Psychologist) and Rachel Disher (Occupational Therapist) will cover developmental areas critical for school readiness such as emotion regulation, self-care and self-efficacy, resilience, play skills, movement skills, and social / friendship skills. You will walk away with a better understanding of your child’s current readiness, some “how to” tips on emotion coaching to help with anxiety and frustration, and practical strategies for building their capacity to better engage in the many dimensions of school-life.
We’ll see how school readiness is more than just your ABCs and the 123s. Our goal is focused on children not only succeeding at Kindy but being set up for life.
There will be opportunities to ask questions and chat to other parents.
This event is open to all families in the community – all welcome, so please invite your friends too.
